Time for Your Spring Air Conditioning System Checkup

By March 18, 2014January 29th, 2022Air Conditioning

Right now is the perfect time to get your A/C system checkup for the summer! The cold weather is winding down fast and before you know it your air conditioner will be working overtime.

To be sure that your system will be working to maximum efficiency when the warm weather hits, we always recommend a system checkup in the spring. That way if there is a problem, we can take care of it right away instead of keeping you waiting when demand—and the temperature—is higher.

A routine air conditioning system checkup is one of the most important pieces of preventative maintenance you can have done for your HVAC system and it could end up saving you a lot of hassle and money.

A typical spring air conditioning inspection will include the following components, plus more:

Calibrate thermostat: If your thermostat isn’t working properly, then your A/C unit could be working more than it should.

Check electrical components: Even a small problem like a loose wire could cause big problems. This will make sure everything is in its right place.

Check refrigerant levels: Low refrigerant could mean a leak, or it could cause the compressor to eventually burn out.

Clean evaporator and condenser coils: This is to improve the unit’s efficiency.

Check condenser: A broken condenser is a costly repair. This will make sure everything is in good shape.

Check, clean, and replace filters as needed: To keep the air in your house clean and your air conditioner operating at top efficiency.
